"Persian Guitar" invites you on a colorful journey around Iran, a country with exceptional cultural diversity and a rich background of ethnic musical traditions. Remarkable Iranian guitarist and composer Golfam Khayam has assembled a team of young and talented guitarists from different parts of the country, who have performed six folk or composed songs on solo guitar - "Dayeh Dayeh" from Lorestan, "Jane Showken" from Balouchestan, "Sari Galin" from Azerbaijan, "Dehkordi" from Shahrekord, "Robabeh Jan" from Mazandaran, and "Nocturne" from Azerbaijani composer Fikret Amirov. The result is not only a delightful assortment of Persian musical flavors but also evidence of the guitar's phenomenal capacity to accommodate and express a wide range of musical characters.
