Marlène Demers-Lemay is a guitarist from Quebec, Canada. She is active both as a soloist and chamber musician and performs regularly in Canada and Europe. She is part of the Forestare guitar ensemble and the Duo Bégin-Lemay, as well as other groups. She graduated from the University of Ottawa in 2012, obtained a master's degree in performance at the Conservatory of Italian Switzerland in Switzerland in 2015, then in 2018 completed a second master's degree in performance at the Pablo de Olavide University in Spain, and finally a doctorate in interpretation at the University of Montreal in 2020. Marlène is the recipient of numerous awards and scholarships, including a further training scholarship from the Conseil des Arts et des Lettres du Québec in 2013 and a scholarship from the Thérèse Le François and Jean-Paul Larue Fund from the Université de Montréal Superior Studies Committee in 2018. After a first disc in 2011 presenting twenty-five creations commissioned from twenty-five composers, her second disc on French music from the beginning of the 20th century was released in 2019 with the Spanish label Contrastes Records.
