Lucio Matarazzo studied at the Conservatory “D. Cimarosa” in Avellino, Italy. He was known for over twenty years as performing duos with Mario Fragnito. Together they won many competitions and festivals. He then went on to be a member of the jury in international competitions helping many young musicians launch their careers. In 2001 Lucio formed the GuitArt Quartet which is critically acclaimed as “one of the most original and inventive guitar ensembles” performing in the world today. They participated in many performances and competitions together making a name for themselves wherever they went. Now Lucio Matarazzo performs as a soloist, playing and recording studies from the 19th and 20th century.
