David Antigüedad Mangas is a classical guitarist born in Salamanca in 1993. He began his guitar studies at the age of 8 with Marcos Martín at the Conservatorio Profesional de Salamanca, finishing it with an Premio Extraordinario at 18, when he entered the Conservatorio Superior de Música de Castilla y León with professors Hugo Geller and Dimitri van Halderen to carry out his higher studies. Two years later, in 2013, he was awarded an Erasmus scholarship and moved to Maastricht, the Netherlands, to study with famed guitarist Carlo Marchione at the Maastricht Conservatorium, where he obtained his Bachelor's degree with distinction in 2015. He moved to Zaragoza, where he continued his training with professors Pedro Mateo González and Àlex Garrobé and taught guitar classes at various music schools. He currently resides in Salamanca. Over the years, David has actively participated in several festivals and competitions, winning prizes such as the 1st Prize in the youth modality of the XII Concurso Internacional de guitarra José Tomás – Villa de Petrer, or more recently the 1st Prize in el Concurso Permanente de Juventudes Musicales de España. David has performed across Spain, Belgium, and the Netherlands. Apart from classical music, he plays the electric guitar in different genres and is interested in various musical styles, focusing on electric guitar technique and the study of modern language and jazz. David plays a guitar by luthier Casimiro Lozano from 2011.
