Claude Gagnon has taught classical guitar at the Sainte-Foy College in Quebec for many years, and has performed regularly as a member of various ensembles or as an accompanist for voice and violin. From 1999 to 2001, he was invited on a regular basis to share his discographic discoveries on a radio show entitled Rayon musique, broadcasted by CBC Radio in Montreal. In April 2001, he was invited to the 13th Biennale de guitare en Tricastin (France), to conduct Fredonnements, a work for guitar orchestra commissioned for the event, and premiered on the closing concert of the festival. In addition to this piece, several other works of Claude Gagnon have often been played and recorded by performers from Canada and abroad. Claude Gagnon has published over 40 works with Les Productions d’OZ and Doberman-Yppan. Distributed internationally, these works offer a didactic and concert repertoire made up of original compositions and arrangements for solo guitar or guitar ensemble. As a performer, arranger and producer, Claude Gagnon has taken part in many recordings for the Atma, Analekta, XXI and Audiogram labels.
